So, I went to Supanova last weekend. It’s basically discount Australian Comic-Con, as opposed to actual Australian Comic-Con, with pop culture stuff from a bunch of different places. There was some RPG stuff, some video game stuff, a lot of anime stuff, and more indie artists than I care to name. It was pretty fun! I bought a bunch of artworks, bought a new d20, and I got to see the cast from Critical Role through a narrow gap in the stage wall!
It’s funny. I go to these sorts of things to meet new people, yet the nature of how conventions work seems antithetical to that. You don’t really have an opportunity to stand still and just chat with people. You’re always on the move from stall to stall, stopping only to buy something from one before moving on to the next. I only really properly spoke to a few people, with results ranging from awkward to passable. I kinda wish there was a designated part of things that you go to specifically to relax, chat to people, and make friends out of strangers. Like a “meet and greet” section. Although, knowing convention venues, they’d probably make you pay extra for it.
Anyhow, the fourth draft of Clanless is about done. Half this week was spent on that, and the other half on my current fanfiction project. This latest version is a bit longer than I would’ve liked, about 22 pages worth, but I couldn’t quite cut it down as much as I wanted to without detracting from the story. A Matter of Faith and She-Devil haven’t progressed since last time I mentioned them, but nor have they been abandoned.
That’s all for this week! Next time, I’ll either write up Part 2 of my Magic of Karatera segment, or I’ll do something completely different! We’ll see how it goes! See you all next week!
